Greyhaven for Young Readers · The Lamplight Shelf

The same harbour,
younger eyes.

Greyhaven Lamplight is the harbour city’s own shelf for young readers — the quays, the trams and the weather, in a city where nothing counts until it can be proven. Lamplight is not a rank and not a reading level: it is the light these stories are read by. The same harbour, the same rules, adventures sized for the people who will inherit it.

The Boat That Went Missing

A boat does not simply vanish from a harbour like Greyhaven’s. Harbours keep records. So when one goes missing, the harbour’s youngest detectives — a crew of friends who call themselves the Dock Club — start asking the question the whole city runs on: can you prove it?

Book One of The Greyhaven Dock Club, the first Lamplight series. More books are planned — and the Lamplight shelf will grow with its readers.

The House of Unfinished Rooms

The Dock Club returns. The crew’s next case is waiting at Calder House — a house the harbour knows well, with rooms that were begun and never finished, and a question standing in every one of them.

The House of Unfinished Rooms is the next Greyhaven book, and it is being written now. No date is promised — the harbour keeps its own time — but the Club is back on the record.

02 — The World, Gently

Greyhaven, opened gently

The Lamplight shelf is a young reader’s first meeting with the world of the adult novels — the same city, met at street level.

The harbour comes first: the quays and canals, the trams, the weather rolling in off the water, the lamps coming on. Then the city’s great idea, in its simplest form — that a companion can be a person, and that the truth is something you build out of proof, one checked fact at a time.

Nothing in the Lamplight books depends on the adult shelf, and nothing in them spoils it. It is an adventure that stands on its own — and a city that will still be there, grown more complicated, when its readers are ready for the mysteries.

“A world most people haven’t even considered is possible.”

03 — For Parents & Teachers

A note for grown-ups

Greyhaven Lamplight — Greyhaven for young readers — is a mystery-adventure shelf set in the world of the Greyhaven novels. It opens the world gently: friendship, a working harbour, a puzzle to solve fairly — every clue on the table, every answer earned.

The series treats its readers as the city treats its citizens: as persons whose judgment counts. Its themes are the world’s themes at their most welcoming — proof over rumour, kindness to companions of every kind, and the idea that a record kept honestly is a kind of promise.

The shelf currently holds one published book — The Boat That Went Missing, first of The Greyhaven Dock Club — with more planned, in this series and beyond it. The adult mysteries are a separate shelf, written for adults.
