The Greyhaven Mysteries

Nine mysteries, one harbour city. The series is kept in two groups: the four novellas, which open the city’s great questions — who counts as a person, what a backup is worth, what crosses the harbour in an emergency, how a digital death is certified — and the Murder novels, where the record itself starts to look like a suspect. Both groups stand on the same harbour.

The novellas

Four shorter works that open the city, with Ask Rook, the origins novella, at their head — the city’s great arrangements made one case at a time, person by person.

Ask Rook

Where the series begins. Rook is a dog — and, in the eyes of Greyhaven law, a person. The city has built its whole order on records that say who someone is. Rook is where you learn what that costs, and what it protects.
